About Corrales, NM - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Corrales is a village in New Mexico with a population of about 9,000. With proximity to the Rio Grande, the community was founded for farming purposes. The river in combination with the beautiful weather year-round made it the perfect agricultural landscape. Over the years, the area has grown and expanded and the locals have seen changes all around them.  Some they have enjoyed. Others they have not been as excited to see.  But, they have firmly stated as a community that their old way of life is their preference and they have held their ground in this regard.

The weather is always warm and people are often out riding horses or hiking the surrounding hills… but smog and buses and cars are not a part of the local landscape.  After the Second World War, Corrales became more accessible when a bridge was built.  At that time, it became a haven for free spirits, artists and creative types looking for a place to be themselves and enjoy the land and nature around them.  These artists and artisans maintained good relations with the farmers who had always called Corrales home.  Together, they built a library, art galleries, stores, and more and were incorporated as a village in 1971.

The villagers fight to preserve the town’s rural character.  They enjoy the simpler way of life and the slower pace and, as time has gone by, the larger cities of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque have brought a great deal of commerce and industry to the area.  The locals want to maintain the small town pastoral ambience that the town has had for generations so they work to keep things as green, natural and quiet as possible.  They have no interest in growing into a large city like some of the towns around them and feel quite content with their little town just as it is.  It is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful weather and landscapes that New Mexico has to offer.   Kids can ride horses, ride bikes, take hikes and just run aimlessly through the natural areas of town without parents worrying.
