About Tijeras, NM - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Tijeras is a village in Bernalillo County, New Mexico with a tiny population between 500 and 600 people. Two canyons come together at Tijeras and create a landscape that you have to see to believe.  The Spanish town name means “scissors” perhaps because it cuts a path between the two land forms.  The best thing about New Mexico is that the weather is always beautiful. Although slight seasonal changes are seen in some parts of the state, you will be hard pressed to show up in town on a cold day.

In 2014, the tiny town got the attention of the country when a two lane stretch of Route 66 was equipped with rumble strips that “play” the song “America, the Beautiful” for travelers.   And, no place in the country demonstrates the beauty and splendor of America better. The amazing canyons, rivers, plant life and animals that you will find are unique and special to this area.  In addition, the weather is warm, sunny and beautiful all year round.  It’s like a snapshot of the “American Dream” everywhere that you turn.

Locally, there is much to see and do.  The people in the area are some of the friendliest that you will ever meet and will be excited to share their culture, foods, art and music with you.   The nearby town of Bernalillo has a thriving wine industry and the locals take great pride in their local wines.  This small town is a great place to enjoy some pretty weather and a glass of wine on a restaurant patio.  Each year, the town hosts the New Mexico Wine festival.  This event is a big deal in the area and people from all over the state, and country, come to sip wine and enjoy family-friendly events.
